Friday 5th April is national walk to work day in the UK. To celebrate the occasion, two of our employees will be walking 19 miles to work. All of the funds raised will be donated to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. The hospice needs to raise £11,000 in funding every day in order to keep their doors open, so every penny counts!
The fun part is that they will be racing to see who gets to the office first! Both employees, Andy & Connor, live approximately 19 miles away from the Reach office in Doncaster. Connor will be walking from Sheffield city centre and Andy will be walking from Retford. The walk will take approximately 6.5 hours for both guys and we are going to be tracking their location throughout the day via this page to see who wins!
The Reach Team expects Connor, our Operations Executive, to get here first from Sheffield. Connor is a regular walker in the Peak District and has experience in walking long distances. However, everyone loves a good underdog story and Andy, our UK Sales Manager, who is a bit of a “couch potato” is hoping to upset the odds and beat him to the office. Andy has stepped up his walking over the last few weeks. They will be setting off at 8 am and are expected to get to the office around 2 pm. May the best man win!
Said Matthew Sheridan, corporate fundraiser at Bluebell Wood: “What a way to start your working day! We are so grateful to Connor and Andy for deciding to fundraise for us. At Bluebell Wood we support children, young adults and their families across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The support we offer includes end of life care, short breaks, music therapy, counselling, sibling support, home visits and more. None of this would be possible without the generous support of companies like Reach Interactive and their employees.”
As the helmet offer went so well, Sarah has now decided to offer a discount on one of her road bikes which is £350. Again, she's offering 20% off but this time she'll send her marketing texts offering £70 off rather than 20% because a saving of £70 will be seen as the better deal by her customers.
